Mrs. Louise (Sue Mae) Trotter, age 78, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 1998 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Trotter was born October 4, 1919 in Cherokee County, Ala. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. O. Trotter, Sr.; her parents, James Alvin and Martha Turner Wilson; a daughter, Lorena Broom; and a brother, Grandville Wilson. Survivors include seven sons, Ray Trotter of Rome, Alvin Trotter of Cedartown, Arthur Lee Trotter of Rome, Marshall Trotter of Cedartown, W. O. Trotter, Jr. of Rome, Miller James Trotter of Nashville, Tenn., and Wayne Trotter of Centre, Ala.; a daughter, Nellie Starley of Cedartown; two brothers, James Wilson of Calhoun and Winfred Wilson of Cedar Bluff; a sister Willie Faye Hobgood of Fairmount; 24 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 13, from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Morris Cargle officiating. Interment followed in Blue Pond Cemetery of Floyd County. Pallbearers included John Allmon, Danny Clayton, Jimmy Smith, Marty Jordan, Steve Trotter, and Ben Knight. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
