Interment: Eastview Cemetery, Wright Memorial Mortuary, In Charge of Arrangements.


Mr. Donald E. Trammell was born in Floyd County, Georgia. He was the son of Mrs. Katherine Hill-Trammell and the late, Walter Trammell. He attended Floyd County School System and was a graduate of Main High School. Mr. Trammell enlisted in the United States Army. After 2 1/2 years of service he was honorably discharged from service to his country. He was married to the former Irene Porch on October 21, 1972. He was very active in his church, serving as Assistant Pastor of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Calhoun and as a Bible School teacher at the Mary Weems Memorial Bible School. Mr. Trammell was employed by the Gordon County Sheriff's Department and was deeply respected by all who knew him.
On Saturday - September 26, 1992 - Mr. Trammell departed this life. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Irene Trammell; his mother, Katherine Trammell; his daughters; Lynette, April, Ivy, Brea and Deirdre; his sons, Donald, Jr., Kenyon and Brian; one sister, Eva Trammell of Rome, Georgia; four brothers, Walter Trammell of Miami, Florida, Herbert and Randolph Trammell, both of Rome, Georgia and Robert Lindsey Monroe of Calhoun, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Marlene Trammell; five grandchildren, Dorian Correll, Natasha, Deonta and Chad; two great-aunts, Louise Zimmerman and Rosa Clark, both of Rome, Georgia; one great-uncle, Charles (Skit) Zimmerman of Rome, Georgia; and two cousins, Theodore Downs and Willie Mae McCain, both of Rome, Georgia. A host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a special niece, Annette Printup of Calhoun, Georgia, a special nephew, William Donnell Trammell of Rome, Georgia; other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
