Mrs. Emma T. Proctor

Mrs. Emma Mae Terry Proctor, 77, 313 Perkins St. died in a Rome hospital at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday following an illness of several years, her condition having been critical for one day.
Mrs. Proctor was born in Floyd County July 5, 1889 and had spent the greater part of her life here. She joined the Macedonia Baptist Church during childhood but at the time of her death was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and the Extension Department. Her husband, Claude Ernest Proctor, died March 16, 1939.
Survivors include two sons, William Paul Proctor, Newnan, John Wesley Proctor of Calhoun; one daughter, Mrs. Willie F. Davis, Rome; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at l:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Horace Sheffield, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Mizpah Cemetery.
The body will be carried to the residence of the daughter, Mrs. Willie F. Davis, 313 Perkins St. at 3 p.m. today to remain until noon Friday at which time it will be removed to Jennings Chapel to lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers include Roy Childers, Bobby Jacobs, Max Proctor, Clinton Griffies, Sam Henderson and A. C. Payne.
