Mr. Herbert Olin Price, age 88, of Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 1999. Mr. Price was born February 14, 1911 in Polk County. He retired from Trend Mills where he was employed as a shipping clerk. Prior to working at Trend, Mr. Price was the former manager of the Green Valley Dairy in Cedartown and the manager of the Atlanta Dairies in Rome. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William Price and Lula Anthony Price; a sister, Louise Steed Voyles; and a brother, Charles Price. Survivors include his wife, Loyce Elizabeth Doyle Price, three daughters, Martha Mathis of Rome, Ruth Forrister of Rome, and Oline Lloyd of Silver Creek; a son Doyle Price of Cave Spring; two sisters, Lena Spann of Valdosta and Clara Redmond of Cedartown 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Henderson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Huddleston of Commerce and the Rev. Lee Smollar officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in Floyd Memory Gardens. Henderson and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
