Mrs. Jessie Green Peace

Mrs. Jessie Green Peace, age 91, of 4 Brogdon Court, Rome, GA, died Friday, December 15, 2006, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Peace was born in Floyd County on June 7, 1915, the daughter of the late James Henry and Alice Adaline Hicks Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over sixty years. Mrs. Peace was a loving wife and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. Also Mrs. Peace took great pride in her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Peace is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Stephens Peace, to whom she was married February 6, 1938; a twin sister, Essie Green Adams, seven half brothers, Scott Green, G. H. Green, Ernest Green, Noah Tolbert, William Tolbert, Owen Tolbert and Dewey Tolbert; and five half sisters, Emma Green Calhoun, Bessie Green Conn. Carrie Tolbert, Ida Tolbert, and Eula Tolbert Hardeman. Mrs. Peace is survived by three sons, James Peace and his wife, Susan, Hubert Peace, and Steve Peace, all of Rome, GA; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Tammie and Dan Darden of Kingston, GA, Jerome Peace of Rome, GA, Stephanie and Justin Grant of Winder, GA, Terri and Bill Richards of Rome, GA, Jeff and Dean Peace of Rome, GA, Jennifer Burchett of Rome, Timothy and Melissa Peace of Golden, CO, Trudy and Robbie Silver of Rome, GA and Marissa Peace of Rome, GA, stepgrandson, Michael and Michelle Strutton of Villa Rica, GA and eleven great-granchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 18, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Peace will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Monday by 1:30 p.m.: Robbie Silver, Timothy Peace, Conner Moore, Daniel Burchett, Jeff Peace, Markus Burchett, and Justin Grant.
