Mr. Lloyd

Lewis Randolph Lloyd, Sr., 67, of 213 Flora Ave., died Friday afternoon at a Rome hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Lloyd was born in Floyd County May 7, 1920, son of the late L.H. Lloyd and Gertrude Camp Lloyd. He was employed by Auctions United. Mr. Lloyd also was a gospel singer, having performed on television and radio. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy.
He was member of the American Legion Post 136 in Lindale, the 7th District American Legion Benefit Association, the Lindale Lodge 455 F&AM and the Low 12 Club. Mr. Lloyd was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist church, where he was a deacon, member of the Joshua Sunday School Class and trustee of the Cemetery Fund.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Bradshaw, to whom he was married Sept. 1, 1939, a son, Lewis Randolph Lloyd, Jr., Rome; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Harper, Lindale, and Mrs. Deanna Owensby, LaGrange, four sisters, Mrs. Carl Hall, Atlanta, Mrs. Lonnie Meroney, Armuchee, Mrs. Karl Ullman, East Point, and Mrs. Bill Goss, Lindale; three brothers, Wallace Lloyd, Rome, the Rev. Robert Lloyd, LaGrange and Jimmy Lloyd, Silver Creek; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. David Laughner, the Rev. Richard Smith and the Rev. Bob Bagley officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
