Mrs. Rachel Guice, 41, of 315 West 10th St. died in a Rome hospital at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday following an extended illness.
Mrs. Guice was born in Bluffton, Ala., August 12, 1914, daughter of Mrs. Roxie Ray Berryhill and the late John Smith. She had been a resident of Rome and
Floyd, County the greater part of her life. For the past 22 years, Mrs. Guice had operated a restaurant on West 10th Street. Her father died on July 1, 1933
and a sister Mrs. Darssie Mae McBurnett, died July 18, 1945.
Surviving Mrs. Guice are one son, Arthur Thomas Guice Jr. of Rome: the mother, Mrs. Berryhill, of Rome Route 6: and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Walters of
Atlanta.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home.
The Rev. L. L. Coker of Chattanooga, will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot of East View cemetery. The body will be at the residence,
314 West 10th St. until time for services.
Pallbearers include, Calvin Bryant, Donald Beard, John Addington, Arnold Stevens, Junior Penny and Herbert Shipley.
