A paper copy of the following obituary is in the possession of Shirley
Gribble Baggett of Georgia. She sent a photocopy to my mother, who sent
a copy to me.
Obituary published 25 January 1934 in the Dalton, Georgia weekly newspaper.
Mrs. Annie Gribble, 79, died at the home of her son, T.M. Gribble, near Dunnegan, Sunday afternoon [21 January 1934] at
six o'clock. Surviving her are five sons, W.A. Gribble, of Dalton, J.W., of Winnie Beach [Winter Beach], Fla., E.C. of Waring,
Horace of Baxley, GA., and T.M. of Whitfield county; three daughters, Mrs. Lula Cox [Fox] of Gordon Springs, Dammie Dills and
Mrs. Maggie Brown of Baxley, Ga. Funeral services were held from the Dunnegan church Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Revs.
Joe Nichols and Jams Cargal of Dalton officiated. Burial was made in the local cemetery, with Kenemer Brothers in charge of
the funeral.
