Mr. Green

William Green, 79, of 16 Springdale Drive, died Saturday after a long illness. Mr. Green was born in Floyd County June 24, 1918, son of the late Willie C. Green and Leila Burnes Green. He was of the Baptist faith, and Army veteran and prior to retirement, was employed by Rome Provision Co. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Hilley Green.
Survivors include his widow, Marie Addington Green, a daughter, Beattie Ann Duvall, Conyers; two sons, Bill Penny, Lilburn and Wayne Green, Rome, a stepdaughter, Sandra Addington Green, Rome, a brother, Varnell C. Green, Rome; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a stepgreatgrandchild; nieces and nephews.
Funeral serices will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Jennings Funeral Home Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Howard Tucker officiating. Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
