H. C. Green, 48, Dies Saturday
Mr. Green was born in Rome August 14, 1897, the son of the late Melvin C. and
(Rebecca Jennie) Swofford Green. He had spent his entire life in Floyd County.
Prior to moving to Freeman's Ferry a year ago, he had made his home in Texas Valley.
Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Mae Gilliam, one son, James Robert Green, of Rome Route 2, one
sister, Mrs. G.W. Boggs, of Rome Route 1, a brother, M. O. Green, of Atlanta, and a
number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon from Jennings
Chapel, with the Rev. W. F. Conn and the Rev. O. E. Rutland officiating. Interment
will be in East View Cemetery.
The remains will lie in state at the residence until time for the services and
the pallbearers are requested to meet there. They include Mack Henderson, T. K.
Fincher, Carl Burnes, Cecil Craven, Enoch Salmon and Harper Davis.
