Frank H. Ayer Dies Suddenly
Frank H. Ayer, 49, of 122-A E. 12th St., died suddenly at the residence Wednesday
at 6 p.m. following a heart attack. Mr. Ayer was born in Rome September 27, 1910,
son of the late Frank Chesley and Rosa Taylor Ayer and had been a resident of Rome
all his life, and for the past 15 years was employed by the Celanese Corporation of
America. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are the widow, the former Eudora Smith, three sons, Frank H., Jr.,
Jimmy and John A. Ayer all of Rome; two daughters, Mary Mildred and Patty Jean Ayer,
both of Rome; three sisters, Mrs. Patty Taylor of Taylorsville, GA, Mrs. R.W. Argo
of Atlanta and Miss Kathleen Ayer of Rome. Funeral services will be held Friday at
4 p.m. in Jennings Chapel with the Rev. P.M. Minter officiating. Interment will be
in East View Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the residence until time for
the services and pallbearers who are requested to meet there at 3:30 include Horace,
Henry, Taylor and Don Ayer, L.F. Dempsey and Norman Nelson.
