D.N. Aycock, 60 Dies Here Today

D.N. Aycock, 60, well-known farmer and sawmill operator of the Alto Church community, died in a local hosptial at 4:15 a.m. today following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Aycock was born in Rome on August 29, 1885, the son of the late Richard and Susan Brooks Aycock, and had spent his entire life in Floyd County. He has been a member of the Mountain Springs Methodist Church since early manhood.
Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Frances White; three daughters, Mrs. T.D. Johnson, Mrs. Charles Blanton and Mrs. Julius Drummond; two sons, Albert and Roger Aycock, all of Floyd County; two brothers, R.C. and M.A. Aycock, both of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Ola Melton, of Tennessee, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Rich, pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Jennings Chapel until time for the services. Pallbearers, who are requested to meet there at 2:15, include Shaw, Marshall, Woodrow, E.J., Joe and Raymond Aycock.
