Mrs. Addie Adams Dies Early Today of Sudden Attack

Mrs. Addie Carnes Adams, 34, died suddenly this morning at 9:30 o'clock at her residence, 503 Brett's Alley. She became ill suddenly while working at the Rome Hoisery Mill this morning and was rushed to her home, where she died a few moments later. She is reported to have suffered a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Mark McDonald Baptist Church. The Rev. H. E. Wright, pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist church, will officiate, with interment in Oakland Cemetery. The Mark McDonald quartette will render appropriate hymns during services.
Mrs. Adams was born and reared in Floyd County and had spent her entire life here. She was a member of the Mark McDonald church.
Surviving her are her husband, J. A. Adams [Jessie Allen]; one daughter Edna; four sons, James, Donald, Harvey, and Leon Adams; her mother, Mrs. King Carnes, all of Rome; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Harris, of Birmingham, Mrs. Nellie Fortenberry, of Calhoun, Mrs. L. S. Adams, of Rome; one brother, Turk Carnes, of Rome, and several nieces and nephews.
The following pallbearers are requested to meet at the residence at 3:15 o'clock; Robert Poole, Price Hale, J.C. Brewer, Boyd Nichols, Carl Bagwell, and James McJunkin.
