September, at Thomas White's in Jones county, Maj. John C. Easter of
Elberton, to the amiable Miss Ann P. Clark, late of Orange county,
Virginia.

Monday, November 19.
A resolution was passed, appointing Wm.
Forsan a Justice of the Inferior court of the county of Elbert in the
room of John Johnson, resigned.
Saturday, November 17th.
Mr. Barnett agreeably to notice introduced a
bill to incorporate the Petersburg Mercantile Company -- received and
read the 1st time.

Married, In Elbert county, on Monday Evening
the 26th ult. by the Rev'd. Mr. Seals, Mr. Octavious Spencer of this
place, to Miss Elizabeth Ann Gray, daughter of Hezekiah Gray of said
county.
In Putnam county, on Thursday Evening 20th
ult, by the Rev'd. Mr. Pendleton, Mr. Thomas Beytop Stubbs to Miss
Catherine Palmer Stubbs, daughter of Peter Stubbs of said county.
May health and love and prosperous days be
theirs.

The following returns have been made by the persons appointed in the
different counties to take the census of this state, agreeable to a law
passed at the preceding session of the Legislature. We are
informed, that owing to the neglect of those employed to make the
enumeration, the number returned from some counties is far short of the
real population.

Brought to Clinton Jail on the 24th inst. two Negroes taken up in the
Indian Nation, to wit --- One African fellow about 30 years of age,
named JOHN, says he belongs to Walker Richardson of Elbert county,
speaks tolerable good English. Also, a country born fellow named
PRIMUS, says he belongs to William Kee of said county, aged about 25
years. The owners are requested to come forward and prove the
property, and take them away.
