DeKalb County, Ga. Queries
2005

I am a descendant of Silas B. Tanner who was in DeKalb County, GA from the early 1800s until 1883 when he and most of his family moved to Cullman Co., AL.  He married Elizabeth Lyon and they had 10 children. There were several Tanner families in DeKalb County during this time, and there appears to be some relation to each other, but I can not definitely establish one. If anyone is researching any of the other Tanner lines in DeKalb County, please contact me.

I am researching the Edmond BUNT family that lived in DeKalb, GA from at least 1850. Edmond and his wife Edna (possibly Eda) moved from SC to DeKalb. They had eight children: James, John, Joseph, Rebecca,

Margaret, William E., Delona, and George. I know they lived in DeKalb from the 1850-1870 time frame at least. I am trying to figure out more information about Edmond BUNT's parents. Edmond is my great, great, great grandfather. If anyone has been researching the BUNT family please contact me. Thank you so much!

Am seeking info regarding MILLICAN - BARNETT - MATTHEWS families buried in what is known as MILLICAN Family Cemetery, located between Tucker and Stone Mountain. Millican family obtained the land in 1830.  Numerous graves of slaves and descendants, besides those of the family(ies) who owned this land.  I estimate there could be 50 to 100 graves there. Scout Troop 876 has been working to clean up and mark the cemetery. Have names of those whose graves were marked and inscribed, and photos. DeKalb Historical Society only recently able to re-locate exact site.  Most recent grave marked was 1896.
