I have been interested in collecting and
restoring old photos for some time now and have uploaded a number of
those photos on this and other websites. Many of the photos on this
site have been 'fixed' to one extent or the other. I thought you might be
interested in seeing some before & after photos. Along with the
pictures I've thrown in a few tips I've learned through trial and
error :)
Pictures printed out on your home printer are
great - but remember they are not 'real' pictures. They are just ink
on paper and are not the quality of and will not last like a
chemically processed photo. If you scan a picture you have printed
out on your own printer you will see what I mean - it will not come
out well. If you have a picture you want to preserve you should have
it professionally printed. There are some good on-line photo
processors (www.webshots.com and many others). You can also take a disc,
thumb drive or disc from your digital camera to your local photo
processor and get professionally processed pictures. Couldn't be
easier :)
