Mrs. Walls Receives Award At Milstead

Mrs. Mary Lou Walls was born in Jackson County in 1917, and attended school in Talmo and Swanee. She moved to Milstead with her parents in 1928, and two years later began her continuous employment with the Company.

She was the first employee to be presented the 25-year award in 1958, having received it on January 31.

For 25 years Mary Lou has been an efficient employee. During these years she has worked only in the Spinning.

In 1937, Mary Lou married Chester Walls, who is with the Ford Motor Company in Hapeville. They have two sons, Edward, the oldest, is serving with the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Donaldson Air Force Base, South Carolina. Chester Lee attends school in Conyers.

Mary Lou and Chester own an attractive home on Old Covington Road in Conyers. Both of them are members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where Mary Lou is a teacher in Sunday School, and is President of the Adult Training Union.

When the work at the Plant is over for the day, Mary Lou attends to her household duties. She takes a lot of pride in her yard. In the evening she enjoys reading and watching her favorite television programs.

One of the highlights of the year for Mary Lou is the football season. She is an avid fan and attends most local games.
