Jessie S. Burnley moved to Milstead in 1918 as second hand to Mr. J. B. Stewart in the weave room. When Mr. Dock Nancy left his job as master mechanic, J. S. was promoted to that department. He was one of Milstead's officials. He and his wife had a family of seven lovely girls, Claudine; Louise; Florene; Lois; Betty; Billie; and Jane. He retired in 1956 and went into private business.
