Here's a picture of my grandparents I found in some old pictures...I'm thinking it was the early 50's.  They are:

Jesse and Dolly (George) Robinson

They are next to their house at 267 New Street (now 1859) in Milstead.

Jessie Robinson and Family

Jessie F. Robinson, a native of Rockdale County, was born October 17, 1896. He grew up on a farm and attended Oak Grove school. He married Dolly Mae George on March 15, 1915. In 1923 they tired of farming. His first experience in textile was in Porterdale Mill as a quiller. Milstead textile plant offered a better opportunity, so in 1927 he moved his family to Milstead to a four room house at 1859 New Street. The company had just completed construction of the street.

All of his twenty-five years as an employee was as a weaver. He received his 25-year pin on July 31, 1952, and retired September 1956. He died August 13, 1960. He and Miss Dolly had seven children: Otis; Elmer; J. T.; Lorene (Mitchell); Lucile (Maddox); Gladys (Tarbush); and Earnest. He was a loyal member of the Milstead Baptist Church for many years. His son, Rev. J. T. Robinson, was pastor of the church from 1957 - 1960.

J. T. Robinson

J. T. Robinson, Milstead weaver, accepted the call to serve as Pastor of the Milstead Baptist Church March 1957. J. T. had served as Deacon, Assistant Superintendent and taught a class for ten years. He was licensed to preach by the church in 1952 after his graduation from Trinity Baptist Seminary in Atlanta. During that time he had served several churches in the vicinity as a supply pastor. He had served at the Milstead church for five months while it was without a pastor.

Rev. Robinson and wife Velma owned their home on Spring Street. They had three children: Phyliss, Phillip; and Richard. J. T. was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Robinson. He served the church for four years. During that time the church prospered. A Sunday School annex was built under his leadership.
