~~ 'We had a brave soldier living in Milstead during WWII. His name was GRADY CONNERS. He was captured and spent months if not years in a prison camp. We owe him and his family a lot. His wife's name was Opal and they lived at the corner of New Street and Spring Street. He has passed now but I'm sure some of his kids are still living in the county. One of his sons name was Olin. I'm not sure about the rest.' ~~ ~ Jerome Day (November 23, 2004) |
