A Week In The Okefenokee

by Frank Smith

Just imagine a full week of fishing and hunting in the great Okefenokee Swamp, "the land of the trembling earth" in the heart of South Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Walker Potts, two outdoor sports lovers, had fished and hunted in all parts of the country but their one dream was to spend a week in the Okefenokee. Their dream came true this summer and the swamp lived up to their expectations, offering plenty of fun and excitement as well as a hundred pounds of different fish including a 50-pound sturgeon.

Walker, who is an expert fisherman and hunter, has quite a job on his hands when he tries to out cast or out shoot his wife for she too is at home on the stream and in the field. He is employed in the Milstead Machine Shop.
