Grady was with the 13th Air Force. He flew 20 missions in the South Pacific during World War II as a nose bomber on the B24 Liberator. He was part of the 31st Bomb Squadron - Hofer Crew (Four Fan Fanny, Serial 44-41669). A photo of his plane and crew can be found at: Hofer's Crew 31st
