Additional Comments:
Notes: Thomas Morgan named here is Thadius Morgan in other court records. Thadius is listed in the 1860 Haralson County Census as Thomas as well. These
are the only 2 times that the name Thomas is used in place of Thadius I have found in my research.

Note: Not sure about the spelling of DB Whanandy

JOHN MILLEDGE STRICKLAND

Deed- Contributed by Ivey Nance

I need to make a correction on page 325 of the John Milledge Strickland Family History Book.  The last paragraph should say buried and not burned.  Please note that I mistakenly typed burned when I should have typed buried.   The following is the corrected deed.

In 1887 John Milledge Strickland made several gift deeds to his children.  Linda Mardis located these records on March 15, 2011 from Carroll County, Georgia.  This one is addressed to Thomas Jefferson Strickland who, as fate would have it, died before Sarah Knight Strickland did.

J. M. Strickland to T. J. Strickland
State of Georgia, Carroll County

At my request T. J. Strickland shall hold deeds made on the 25th day of August 1887 and have the same recorded in deed book in C. S. C. office of Carroll County, Georgia and these deeds shall be of no force while me or my wife shall live.  (The deeds are made to my lawful heirs).  At our deaths, the said T. J. Strickland shall deliver each deed to its owner or guardian as they now stand.  This August 25, 1887 and furthermore that the said heirs have me and my wife decently buried and tombs put over our graves , before delivering the said deeds, at their own expense.

Signed and sealed in the presence of H. J. Smith, R. Benton N.P., H. M. Long.
