Strickland Graveyard

This is an old abandoned family graveyard. There are 25 to 30 graves marked only with field stones. It is located about 100 yards off Tyree Road between North Helton Road and Liberty Road not far from Liberty Baptist Church. in a grove of trees to the right. It can't be seen from any public road. One allmost has to know where it is to find it.

Buried here are some members of the Henry Strickland family. Two of his son's George and Barney are known to be buried here. Marietta Smallwood Strickland, wife of Barney Strickland is also Buried here. Riley Smallwood owned this land when he died. His widow Pearlina paid taxes on it in 1880. It is assumed they are buried here.
