William Thomas CARR (Nov 1852 - ) & Marthyann Mariah RICKS

Thomas Ralph CARR (17 Apr 1885 - 6 Nov 1949) & Lydia Ann
Viola SMALLWOOD (10 Apr 1889 - 15 Apr 1965)
I am trying to locate all members of this family. Robert Larkin
CARR apparently came to Georgia from SC before 1850. He was shown
on the Campbell County Georgia 1850 Census 21 years old as Robert
L. KARR. Not far away lived a Kathrine KARR 60 years old on the
William CHURCH farm. May be his Mother since she was living next
door to him in 1860. All clues and or advice appreciated.

Researching John S. PRUITT and his wife, Philady DUKE, who moved
to Campbell Co. GA in 1832 with other family members. Two children
thought to be Guilford T. PREWETT (1824 GA) and Joseph R. PREWETT

and children was living with John and Philady for many years--
was it his mother and siblings or hers?

Looking for any info on the parents or children of May Mullins
and his wife Anna. They lived in Carroll County in 1850 and 1860
and perhaps longer. They had eleven kids. I know three of them.
Cynthia married Joseph Jacob Tyler in Hall County, GA in 1836.
They also had a son named Micager who married Mary E. Deadwilder
in Campbell County, GA on 4 May 1848. And they had a daughter
named Jane who married Jefferson Carnes in Carroll County, on
24 Sep 1831. They may also have had Irena and Pinckney as children.
I am researching May and Anna because I think my great-great-grandfather,
Miles Mullins was their son.

PETTY, WILSON J.E.(Edd)Dorminey
Tue Oct 1 20:43:27 1996
James PETTY and wife Judy are married with children and listed
in the 1860 census of Campbell County,GA with their children.
I need help proving who James' father was. There is a John Petty
in the 1830 census of Campbell County. Could this be his father?
We do know that in 1850, James and wife Judy are listed in Dekalb
county Census. We think James was born about 1805 and Judy about
1812. We don't know if they are buried in Campbell County or
not. The only child of James that we have traced is William Alexander
PETTY (b 1847-d. 1899)who married Catherine Eugenia WILSON (b.
1850 -d. 1932) and they are buried in Macland Cemetery, Macland,
GA. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. If
anyone wants to check out my homepage with the info on this family,

has info on several South Georgia Families also.
TAYLOR Ann Nicholas

I am looking for the marriage record of Newton J. Taylor and
Minerva J. ________? Newton J. was living in Carroll Co. on the
1870 census. On the 1880 census they lived in Carroll Co. and
had several children. I believe that Minerva J. probably lived
in an adjoining county and that is where they were married. There
is no record of their marriage in Carroll Co. so I am searching
the surrounding counties in hopes of finding a record there.
The marriage probably took place around 1873. Thanks for your
help.

DOVER, FIELDING Dennis G. Dover Tue

John DOVER family 1840 census is living next door to James and
Elizabeth FIELDING. Bailey Appleton DOVER b 1817 NC married Martha
Ann "Patsy" FIELDING. I believe John DOVER is the father
of Bailey A. DOVER. Who are the other children of John? The name
of John's wife is not known. John is either widowed or divorced
by 1850 when the remaining two children are still at home with
John in Alabama. I believe James FIELDING is the son of Isham
FIELDING who were in Hall Co., GA in 1830, having come from Pendleton.
I suspect that John DOVER b ca 1793 came to Cherokee Co. from
Buncombe Co., NC. The John DOVER in Cherokee Co. purchased his
land at a sheriff's auction on default of a loan by David SPARKS
of Morgan Co. This same David SPARKS moved to Carroll Co. GA
by 1850. Sarah SPARKS, his daughter, married David DOVER in Carroll

GIBSON, FLEWELLYN David Brown Fri
May 2 13:18:19 1997
Seeking information on John GIBSON, who according to DAR, was
son of Gideon GIBSON; but can not verify this. DAR also states
that John married Fannie FLEWELLYN in 1779; but it was probably
John Jr. who married Fanny FLUELLEN Feb. 22, 1800. It seems strange
that two John Gibsons(father & son married two Fanny Fluellens).
Since John's daughter, Sarah married in 1793, she would had to
been born before 1779 - as well as John Jr. and Nancy. So John
must have been married around 1773-4, and must have been born
around 1750 instead of 1759. Does anyone have any info and sources
about John and his family; and also does anyone know of copies
of the old GIBSON Family Bible in Georgia. Would appreciate any
info on John.

BECK, HOLLOWAY, STEWART Donald E. Beck
Sun Aug 31 20:09:10 1997
Isaiah BECK, Sr. and Jr. were in Fayette Co. when they drew lots
in the 1827 Lottery. They came from Hall Co. with their sons/brothers-in-laws
John HOLLOWAY, Jr. and William STEWART, and went on to Carroll
Co. They were probably related to other BECKs in Fayette Co.,
Jesse, Jeffery, etc., all common given names in the families.
Would appreciate any local info on Fayette Co. BECKs not available
in the Lottery or Census records.

I am interested in information on Joe SMITH born circa 1850-1860.
I believe Joe was a watchmaker in the Carrollton area. He had
a son Bud SMITH who lived in the Jacksonville Fla. area. Joe
is the brother of my grandfather Andrew Calhoun SMITH, (9-7-1856
to 6-19-1941) who moved from the Carrollton area about 1883 to
Clarksville, Tx. and later to Cheyenne, Ok. where my father Robert
E. Lee SMITH was born on 3-10-1909. He then moved Perryton, Tx.
where he died. Bud SMITH should be around the same age as my
father.

MCCARLEY David

Thomas McCarley, born ca 1784 in SC, appears to have moved to
Campbell County, GA before 1840. His family is listed in the
733rd District in the 1840 Campbell County, GA census. Thomas
died intestate in Campbell County, GA in the early 1840's and
is suspected to have been buried there. His son, Moses McCarley,
was the Administrator of his estate. Can anyone prove the date
of death for Thomas? Can anyone provide a complete copy of his
estate record? Can anyone prove that Thomas had a son named Memory
C. McCarley? David E. McCarley, 912 Silver Creek Court, Prattville,

CAMPBELL Mary Padget
Mon, 01 Dec 1997 14:00
I am researching the family of William (Billy) CAMPBELL who came
to Campbell County about 1833. Billy Campbell, born about 1799,
was from County Antrim, Ireland according to Owl Rock Necrology.
At least 4 of his children were born in Ireland, the remainder,
included my g-grandfather, Robert, were born in Campbell County.
My questions: Did Billy Campbell come straight from Ireland?
What was his port of entry? Has anyone found the maiden name
of his wife Margaret? Was he kin to John and James Campbell who
came to Campbell County about the same time? I'll be glad to
share information with any other researcher. Mary C. Padget [email protected]
