CARR, KARR, KERR, DOGGETT, RICKS, SMALLWOOD
Wally Smith

Robert Larkin (KERR,KARR) CARR (4 Aug 1828 - 2 Aug 1911) & Nancy DOGGETT (Aug 1832 - 5 Apr 1915)

William Thomas CARR (Nov 1852 - ) & Marthyann Mariah RICKS (Jun 1855 - )

Thomas Ralph CARR (17 Apr 1885 - 6 Nov 1949) & Lydia Ann Viola SMALLWOOD (10 Apr 1889 - 15 Apr 1965)

I am trying to locate all members of this family. Robert Larkin CARR apparently came to Georgia from SC before 1850. He was shown on the Campbell County Georgia 1850 Census 21 years old as Robert L. KARR. Not far away lived a Kathrine KARR 60 years old on the William CHURCH farm. May be his Mother since she was living next door to him in 1860. All clues and or advice appreciated.

Cynthia married Joseph Jacob Tyler in Hall County, GA in 1836. They also had a son named Micager who married Mary E. Deadwilder in Campbell County, GA on 4 May 1848. And they had a daughter named Jane who married Jefferson Carnes in Carroll County, on 24 Sep 1831. They may also have had Irena and Pinckney as children. I am researching May and Anna because I think my great-great-grandfather, Miles Mullins was their son.

PETTY, WILSON
J.E.(Edd)Dorminey Tue Oct 1 20:43:27 1996
James PETTY and wife Judy are married with children and listed in the 1860 census of Campbell County,GA with their children. I need help proving who James' father was. There is a John Petty in the 1830 census of Campbell County. Could this be his father? We do know that in 1850, James and wife Judy are listed in Dekalb county Census. We think James was born about 1805 and Judy about 1812. We don't know if they are buried in Campbell County or not. The only child of James that we have traced is William Alexander PETTY (b 1847-d. 1899)who married Catherine Eugenia WILSON (b. 1850 -d. 1932) and they are buried in Macland Cemetery, Macland, GA. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. If anyone wants to check out my homepage with the info on this family, go to href=http://www.surfsouth.com/~edormine and also it has info on several South Georgia Families also.

John DOVER family 1840 census is living next door to James and Elizabeth FIELDING. Bailey Appleton DOVER b 1817 NC married Martha Ann "Patsy" FIELDING. I believe John DOVER is the father of Bailey A. DOVER. Who are the other children of John? The name of John's wife is not known. John is either widowed or divorced by 1850 when the remaining two children are still at home with John in Alabama. I believe James FIELDING is the son of Isham FIELDING who were in Hall Co., GA in 1830, having come from Pendleton. I suspect that John DOVER b ca 1793 came to Cherokee Co. from Buncombe Co., NC. The John DOVER in Cherokee Co. purchased his land at a sheriff's auction on default of a loan by David SPARKS of Morgan Co. This same David SPARKS moved to Carroll Co. GA by 1850. Shadrick GAITHER married Nancy WILLINGHAM in Walton County in Sept 1826. They then show up in the census records for Campbell Cty in 1830 and 1840. I believe that Shardick must have died in Campbell Cty between 1840 and 1860 because Nancy shows up in Randolf Cty Ala as a widow in 1860. If anyone can check cemetery records or can provide any further data, please let me know. Or if you are aware of any facts, births, etc of this couple. Baton Rouge, La.

GIBSON, FLEWELLYN
David Brown Fri May 2 13:18:19 1997
Seeking information on John GIBSON, who according to DAR, was son of Gideon GIBSON; but can not verify this. DAR also states that John married Fannie FLEWELLYN in 1779; but it was probably John Jr. who married Fanny FLUELLEN Feb. 22, 1800. It seems strange that two John Gibsons(father & son married two Fanny Fluellens). Since John's daughter, Sarah married in 1793, she would had to been born before 1779 - as well as John Jr. and Nancy. So John must have been married around 1773-4, and must have been born around 1750 instead of 1759. Does anyone have any info and sources about John and his family; and also does anyone know of copies of the old GIBSON Family Bible in Georgia. Would appreciate any info on John.

MCCARLEY
David E. McCarley Wed, 03 Dec 1997 06:58
Thomas McCarley, born ca 1784 in SC, appears to have moved to Campbell County, GA before 1840. His family is listed in the 733rd District in the 1840 Campbell County, GA census. Thomas died intestate in Campbell County, GA in the early 1840's and is suspected to have been buried there. His son, Moses McCarley, was the Administrator of his estate. Can anyone prove the date of death for Thomas? Can anyone provide a complete copy of his estate record? Can anyone prove that Thomas had a son named Memory C. McCarley? David E. McCarley, 912 Silver Creek Court, Prattville, AL 36066-6179, (334) 361-1793, [email protected] or [email protected].

CAMPBELL
Mary Padget Mon, 01 Dec 1997 14:00
I am researching the family of William (Billy) CAMPBELL who came to Campbell County about 1833. Billy Campbell, born about 1799, was from County Antrim, Ireland according to Owl Rock Necrology. At least 4 of his children were born in Ireland, the remainder, included my g-grandfather, Robert, were born in Campbell County. My questions: Did Billy Campbell come straight from Ireland? What was his port of entry? Has anyone found the maiden name of his wife Margaret? Was he kin to John and James Campbell who came to Campbell County about the same time? I'll be glad to share information with any other researcher. Mary C. Padget [email protected]
