August 1848

1 Clear in the morning and cool rain in the evening.

Clear day went to S. H. M Lartys.

Clear and cool day Robert Bensons little Sam died.

Clear and cool in the morning-went to se Robert Benson child buried the buried at S. W. M Lartys.

Went to cort to day - a grate deal of drinking their some quarling -rain in the evening.

Sabath day at home- John Bagget and wife came to see us.

Very unwell all day hevy rain in the evening.

Unwell to day-went with Washington Hawkins to look at the level lot.

Unwell all day rain in the morning lite.

Very unwell all day getting weaker every day.

Very unwell Alexander went to S.W. M Larty for to get his Uncle to get Wistan bossom of Wild Chery.

Alexander came home with the bolsom I took of it this evening- no severe cough in the evening Wilson came to se me this evening.

Sabath day-I had no severe cough to day-Wilson and his children stayed all day.

Granpap went to Arnolds mill fodder. My cough is not bad to day but very weak the boyes puled fodder.

Unwell to day coughed more than common toth ake at night-puled fodder

I am very weak-puled fodder.

Some little better to day-puled.

I think the bolsom does me a grate deal of good-some rain to day. But it rains every day-the boyes stil worker with fodder - commenced feeding my hogs.

I am a good deal better to day some rain very stormy night.

Sabath day at home unwell-cool day-some rain in the morning.

Went to S.W. M Larty-clear day.

Returned home from S. W. M Larty - clear but it rained a grate deal at night-the boyes got a heap of fodder wet John Clinton died to day. (coffin drawn in the margin)

Went to Jackson Baggetts and William Maquirks to day rain to day.

Dark day- the boyes put up some fodder.

The boyes puled some fodder very wet day and night.

The boyes trimed the grafts- Wm. Maquirk and family came to se us. He who relates falts of others to you designs to relate yours to others.

Sabath day at E.W. Maxwells to day-I am still getting better-no rain.

The boyes commenced pulling the new ground fodder-Wilson and me looked some for our hogs.

The boyes puled fodder-very fine day- but warm and clear.

I wint to G. W. M Larty for papers and the children puled fodder clear day-cool in the morning.

I worked a little with the boyes clear and dry day-the boyes has done very well at saving fodder this month.
