March 1847

1. Done my trading in Atlanta -started for home day on Nickagack- clear and cold.

2 Drove home -found my family well-clear and cold.

3 Mended shoes and worked on the celler-cold and very wet day.

4. Asked hands to help me to chop in my new ground-cloudy day.

5 Chopped in my new ground-had twenty-four hands to chop -a fine days work done- clear and plesent day.

6 Choped to day very tired to night--warm and plesent to day

7 Sabath day at home to day --very wet day with thunder

8 Choped to day --cloudy with rain very warm.

9. Commenced spliting rails. I split 285 , Alexander and Robert split 213, Anthony split 198 in all 696.

10. Split rails to day, I split 206, Alexander and Robert 180, Anthony 181 --in all 566--hevy rain to day very worm

11. Split rails to day- I split 136, Alexander 107-- Anthony 105 in all 348--very wet day-worked in spells-very warm day.

12. Made one bridle tremendious rains all day and thunder~--rain from every corse.

13. Made rails to day--Alexander and me made 300 , Anthony made 284--in all 584-cold day with snow in the morning

14. Sabath day-at home to day--very cold day.

15 Made rails to day- John Endsley made 402--Alexander made 214~-- Anthony made 308-- in all 924 clear and cold day

16 Made rails to day John Endsley made 214 ~ Anthony 206 ---Alexander 200 -- in ill 620-- clear and cold-and windy day

Haled wood intiie morning and went to Smiths Mill- clear and plesent day

Returned home from mill and the boyes plowed. for granpap-clear and plesent.

19. Roled logs for jackson bagget and the boyes plowed for grandpap clear and plesent.

20 Wint to Smiths Mill and took 100 apple trees to Mr Deadingley and stayed all night --cloudy with rain -lay in smiths mill all night with out any supper thought it bad lodging.

21 Sabath --this day came home from Smiths Mill rained so the night before i could not come home-very cold day with snow and rain.

22. Cut grafts as S. L Mclartys --came home and grafted ~4 rows across my garden and the boys plowed for granpap. plowed my mule colt a little and haled one load of rails with it-clear and plesent day.

Grafted in the morning and split rails in the evening-cloudy with rain.

Grafted all day and the boys helped me-clear and plesent day- I am very t1red

26 worked all day on one tree with Granpap and Anthony to help me --the big white oke in the orched~cloudy and cold with snow and very high winds

27. Haled rails to day and cool~very stormy day and cold but clear.

28 Sabath day at home to day -clear and plesent

29 Halled manure to day for granpapclear and plesent day.

30. Halled manure to day for pap clear and plesent

31 Halled manure to day -clear and windy eleven wet dayes in this month employed every month day
