February 1st. 1847

Grubed in the morning and loaded my apple trees to go to Campbellton- clear and worme.

Went to Campbellton- Sold one dollars worth of trees-Macay(sp?) negros sold generly very high-returned home very dark night and very wet and cold and very stormy.

Done no work to day - high winds today and very cold.

Made two pair shoes to day and the children grubed- John C. Whittley grubed today and Green Maguire- clear and cold.

Grubed all day - tolerable cold day - John C. Whittey and Green worked to day.

Grubed all day with the same hands - very plesent day- cloudy in the morning.

Sabath day- went to Robert Benson to see their child-found it better- stayed all night- Cloudy day and worme.

Returned home and grubed all day - clear and plesent day - Sold Green Wedington three dollars and half worth trees.

Grubed all day - very warm day -thunder and rain at night.

Grubed all day - clear and cold day- John C. Whittey and Green grubed to day.

Grubed all day-very cold to day.

Went to log roling at Wm. Maguires-the hands worked very lively-hevy roling finished in good time - clear and cold day.

Grubed in the morning and planted my irish potatoes in the evening-Clear and plesent day.

14. Sabath morninga grate deal of fire in the woods moderate day
'to make apple trees thrive-to every gallon of soft sope, put one half pint of salt and one half pound of sulpher and paint the tree down from the fork.

15. Planted my apple seed and moved my lane fince-clear and worm day

16. Made some railes and cut logs and the boyes plowed dark wet day

17. Grubed in the morning find then plat shucks for a horse collar ,but i could not make it-- grubed in the evinin: --rain

18. Went to smiths mill slept their after nightcame home at 10 a clock wet day and very worm

19. Grubed all day-cloudy with rain

20 Cut wood in the morning and wint to Entricans log roling in the evening-cloudy and very warm with rain.

21. Sabath day at home- wrote t0 brother Alexander to day-remarmable wet in the morning and very worm.

22 Grubed all day and mashed my nose with a stick of wood --very cold day and cloudy

23 Went to John Baggets log roling and Alexander plowed-cloudy and pleasent day

24 Wint to Jeames Endsleys log roling and father and the boys grubed- clear and cold

25. Made wagon frame and made gluts and ring mall and the boys plowed for granpap all day--clear and plesent day

26 Made shoes to day and haled wood stormy day day very heavy rain and thunder

27 Made one pair shoes and loded my waggon to start to market- started and lay at mckonels stormy night snow and thunder.

28 Drove to Atlanta stay their that night-- saw the cars run very brisk-clear and cold ---their was eight wet days in this month and twenty clear ones employed every day in this month except one
