William Rountree applied  in March 1772 and was  granted 300 acres in Sept.1772 after having been there  4 years. Jethro Rountree was applied in March 1764 and was granted 600 acres in Oct. 1765.

William's son Arthur listed Washington County as his home when he married in 1801 in Jefferson County. All of these were cut from Burke and St. George. Jethro had 8 children at the time he was granted land and William 2. We know there were sons named James, William( This could possibly be Arthur and he was called by his middle name since his father was called Williamand Arthur's son Mills named his son william Arthur.) Moses, and Francis that eventually settled in Telfair, Dodge and Pulaski.
