ALEXANDER - BLANTON - DILLION - RALLS - REDDING - WINSHIP
I am searching for descendants of Emory Winship born in 1829 in Georgia, died 1888 in Georgia. He married Elizabeth Alexander, who was the daughter of William Alexander and Mary Blanton. Emory and his wife, Elizabeth, had three sons: Isaac Winship b. 1861 who married Minnie Custis Ralls; Blanton Winship b. 1869; and Emory Jr. Winship b. 1872 who married Katherine Dillion. Isaac Winship and his wife Minnie Ralls had three children: Fannie Ralls Winship, Julia Rogers Winship, and William Redding Winship. This Winship family has lived in Macon and Bibb Counties in Georgia. I am interested in the Blanton-side of this family; namely, Mary Blanton Alexander. I would appreciate hearing from any descendants of this Winship family.

ATWOOD
Papers that I have on Abraham he says that he joined the War of 1812 from Fort Hawkins in Bibb Co., GA. Abraham Atwood was born in Richmond Co., GA in 1789. His father was Isaac Atwood who died at St. Pauls Parish (Augusta), Richmond Co, Georgia in 1791. His mother is unknown to me at this time. I have a feeling that he (Abraham) was raised by another family in or near Macon Bibb Co,GA. What little I have on him says that he joined the War of 1812 at Fort Hawkins. Anything you can turn up will be appreciated and a big help to me. Thank you for your time, kindness and help.

ADAMS - BATES - CUBBEDGE - JAMES - MASSEY - MEAD - PATTERSON - WILLINGHAM
I am seeking any information regarding the house at 261 College St. This property was purchased from the City of Macon by Herman Mead in 1840. In 1854 it was sold to Sylvanus Bates. In 1863 it was sold to John L. Jones. In 1896 the property was transferred (possibly by will) to Richard & Anna Cubbedge. We believe the house currently on the property was built by the Cubbedges. BROWN - SMITH - WORSLEY
My great-grandfather was born 1842 in Bibb County, Ga. His name was Turner Thomas Smith. He had a sister named Mary, who later married a Brown. I first found him in the 1860 Barbour County, Alabama census in the Sampson Worsley household with his sister. Who and where were his parents? There was a Turner Smith who was murdered on December 8, 1849 at the Rutlands Courthouse in Bibb County, Ga. by Brinkley Bishop. His brother, Thomas H. Smith was charged with aiding and abetting in this case and sent to jail. Is it possible that Turner or Thomas might be the father of my Turner Thomas Smith? Turner Smith and Brinkley Bishop were involved in a case in court on the day Turner was murdered. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am looking for the family and ancestors of Alexander D. Brown b. CT 1800 who married Emily Crawford b. 1805 NC. They were married in Bibb County, Feb. 9, 1825 in Macon. BROWN - HOLT - McDONALD
I'm looking for records on Richard Benjamin Holt, son of John William Holt & Sarah Martha McDonald. Not sure of Richard's birthdate. He married Sarah Jane Brown abt 1870. Sarah was born 10/23/1850, she died 2/28/1926 in Bibb County, Ga. Richard died in Bibb County, Ga. on 3/4/1893. Four known children of Richard & Sarah were Addie, Emma, John McDonald, Zollie Coffey. Zollie, my grandfather left Ga. at a young age. His brother John moved to Ark. Emma moved to Atlanta, Ga. & Addie to San Antonio, Texas. Records for my grandfather's death certificate in St. Clair County, IL. were destroyed in a fire. Perhaps census records may give me some clues to where our family came from. The only actual evidence I know of is that Zollie was born in Macon, Ga. in 1887. Thanks for any info.

My ancestor is Joel Bennett b: 1765 in SC. I am looking for Joel's father. I am the person that posted the Llewellyn, Grimes, Bennett, Ross, Yarrell information (have included it below).
Joel married Elizabeth Norman. Elizabeth b: 1767 in VA. Elizabeth is the daughter of Eli Norman b: 1740 in VA and Sarah Ann (Green or Kemp).
Below is a reference to:
(a) Barak Norman, 1767-1771 South Carolina,
(a) Elizabeth Norman, and
(a) Joel Bennett.
I do not know if the following information is my Bennett line or not. CAMPBELL - MIDDLETON - SURRENCY
I actually wanted to respond to Cheryl Nored Dean's May 1998 query regarding Henry Franklin Campbell but there was no e-mail address:

My g-grandmother, Sarah Virginia Campbell and her sister Mary Martha Campbell were sent to the Appleton Orphanage, Macon, GA in February 1891 after the death of their parents, William S. Campbell (b. 12/4/1846 in Mason Co. KY, d. 1/10/1890) and Georgia Anna Campbell (b. 12/25/1859 in Houston Co. GA, d. 12/3/1890). Sarah (b. 6/27/1885 in Macon, d. 11/23/1965 in Miami) grew up and married Raymond Porter Middleton (b. 1877, d. 1930). Mary (b. 1/3/1883) grew up and married Harry Whaley Surrency (b. 1881, d. 1927). Sarah (called Sally) and Porter had the following children: Margaret (b. 1905), Harmon (b. 1907), Raymond Jr. (b. 1913) and Edward (b. 1919). Margaret (my grandmother) recollects that her mother had two brothers: Enoch and Frank. I am looking for any information on the two brothers: Enoch Campbell (b. 1880, d. 1965) and Henry Franklin Campbell (b. about 1867, d. 1925). I believe Enoch lived in Macon most of his life but I know nothing about Henry or their parents. I believe Frank may be the "Henry Franklin Campbell" Cheryl Dean refers to in her (3/98) query since his parents names are the same. If you have an e-mail address for her I would like to contact her. Thanks in advance.

EVANS - VANNLooking for the parents and siblings of Obediah Evans b 1817 (Twiggs/Wilkinson Co?). He had a son Rufus Evans b 1859 who married Lucinda James. Rufus is my gggrandfather. I would like to know what happened to Rufus? Also looking for a Evans and Vann cemetery. Does anyone know the exact location of Marion, Ga.? (not marion county). I know that Marion Ga. was quite a busy town in the early to mid 1800's. Rufus Evans and Lucinda James were married there. I have a copy of their marriage license. Was it located near Griswoldville? I have not been able to find it on the old Georgia maps. I located Griswoldville but no Marion Ga. nearby. My Evans' and Vann's lived in Griswoldville and were neighbors. I was just assuming that Marion might be nearby if they went there to conduct business. I also know that my father William Ernest Evans b 1912 d 1980's grew up in around Dry Branch Ga.

    GRAYHAM/GRAHAM - TAYLOR - THUNDERBIRD
Samuel Grayham (Graham)'s son Ishmael married Sally Thunderbird in Bibb County in 1826 according to the Georgia genealogical magazine of 1969, I think it was. I'm not sure that Thunderbird is the right transcription of her name but it is the one used. I can find no precedent for that name in either Creek or Cherokee tradition. But I also have no other explanation. Samuel was a Taylor who came to Georgia by way of Charleston, SC and Wilkenson County, GA where he served during the Oconee War, 1793. Ishmael later went to Dooly County. I have some land information in Twiggs County.

This g2gfather is my hardest brick wall. He was a Mason but those records can not be found. He was politically active and is mentioned in the Democratic party newspaper several times but there is no mention of his early life.
