ANDERSON - APPLETON Church Home
Seeking information on the (orphanage) especially for
the period 1900-1930. The home is no longer in existence (at least by this name).
One source has told me it was destroyed by a fire at some point. I am specifically
searching for Mary Alice ANDERSON born circa 1909 in Rockville, Putnam Co,
Georgia, but believed orphaned and placed in a home in Macon. The 1910 and
1920 census show a Phelma ANDERSON at Appleton and the rest of the
information fits, showing her father as either Swedish or Finnish and her mother
as being from Georgia. The1910 census lists her as 14 months old. I am already
in contact with the Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon.

BUCHER
My great grandfather was born in Switzerland and died in Macon GA per an article in the
EVENING GRAPHIC dated 3/2/1883. Conrad BUCHER, my great grandfather,
committed suicide and the article is headlined: ANOTHER SUICIDE. I am searching for
his roots in Switzerland but have a few loose ends in Macon, Georgia. His wife's name
was Katura and I found them in the census stating that Kati BUCHER was from SC. I am
looking for her maiden name, where she was born (could be Dublin, Ireland) and who she
married after Conrad BUCHER died in March 1883. They had one son, Conrad BUCHER
Jr, my grandfather, born 9/11/1879 in Macon, Georgia. He had a step father and a step
brother but no one can remember what their last name was. I think the step brother's
name was Bob.

JACKSON - ROBERTSON - WINBURN
I am looking for information on Martha JACKSON, (born about 1827 in Macon,

Hawkinsville, Pulaski Co, GA. I would like to find some information who her parents were.
It is said that she named her daughter after a relative Emily JACKSON who was somehow
related to Andrew JACKSON and Rachel Donnelly ROBERTSON. I found that he had

an Emily JACKSON in this group, but have no idea how my Martha JACKSON is related or
if she is related to that family. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
