I am researching the history of my great-grandfather, Joseph Bryant (Bud) CARTER. He lived in (Baxley) Appling Co. Georgia. He was born on March 21, 1898. He was married to Eunie CARTER. He was shot on August 18, 1938 and died on August 21, 1938 in Jesup, Ga. Hospital. I am looking for any information that is available on him, newspaper clippings etc., I do know the man's name who shot him - it was Loris Griffin he also lived in Baxley, but that is all I know about him. Have been looking for the DYAL, GOOGE, CRAVEN familys. They lived in and around Appling, Bacon, and connecting counties. Emma Jane GOOGE married a DYAL and then a CRAVEN, and died in Alma, Ga. DAVIS, Ella CANNON (CANON). Ella was living near Bacon Co. in 1906 and married to Homer DAVIS. Homer's parents were Stafford DAVIS and Georgia Ann ROBERTS DAVIS. Ella probably died in childbirth with their first child not long after 1906. Homer remarried Queen WRIGHT. Queen's parents were Jessie WRIGHT and Ardellia SMITH WRIGHT. Homer and Queen are buried in Wolfpit Cemetery. I would be forever grateful if someone could tell me where my Great Aunt Ella CANNON DAVIS is buried. I would also like to contact anyone who knows anything about Homer and Queen. They had a daughter that may still be living. Her name is Mrs. N.E. SMITH, and she may be living in Waycross, GA. Listed in the 1920 Bacon Co. census p34B is Steven S. BLEDSO and wife Eugenny. This family was listed in the 1900 and 1910 Coffee Co. census. Where did all the BLEDSOEs go? Looking for death records and places buried. I believe Eugnenia is buried at Royals Church, Atkinson Co, Ga, but where is Steven S.? Is the surname: BLEDSOE? BEDSOLE? BLEDSOLE?
