Crary Cemetery

The Crary Cemetery was surveyed on 18 Jan 1986 by members of the West Florida Genealogical Society (WFGS) and published in Volume 1, Gravestone Registry, Escambia County, Fla. The following information was transcribed and contributed to the USGenWeb by Janice Ward (e-mail link no longer valid, 11-11-07) from the recording sheets used by the original surveyors with permission of the WFGS Board of Directors.

Directions: US29 north past McDavid to Bluff Springs about 4.5 miles on right. Cemetery is located by Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (also known as Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery). The first burial was in 1855. The point of contact for this cemetery in 1986 was Mrs. Dean Crary, (850) 256-3637.

Leah and Archer Frey are part of an organization that is recording the cemetery information for a graves registration project of the final resting place of those men that fought in the Civil War, or as some prefer, The First War of Southern Succession. They called Mrs. Crary; she said that the cemetery was between her home and the church. Her address was 4500 N. Century Blvd, Century, FL. They also found the USGS ID. This is the data from the USGS:

Cemetery Name: Crary Cemetery, (Pleasant Hill Cemetery)
Cemetery Location: Bluff Springs, Escambia Co., FL
Cemetery Address: 4550 N. Century Blvd, (Highway 29 S), Century, FL
Cemetery Coordinates: Lat. 3029'31"N. Long. 08711'30"W
