FSGS has received and is now making available in book form or
searchable CD-ROM disk, the
medical examination records kept by a Dr. Thomas Hammond of his medical
examinations for pension applications or an increase in an existing
pension allowance for Florida veterans of the Civil War and a smaller number of
men from Florida who had more recent military service. These handwritten entries
were transcribed exactly as written in the original ledger from
1896-1903. Medical ailments were described in great detail and the
examiner made notes specifically recommending further financial
assistance in some cases. It is sincerely hoped readers may find
additional information about family members contained in this
publication. Price $19.95 for book or CD edition.
