2004 Annual Education Seminar


The PGS Annual Seminar was held at the Family History Center, 9001 106th Avenue North, Largo, Florida 33756.  This was another great seminar with loads of door prizes and excellent classes. We hope those of you who attended this year enjoyed the seminar and plan to be with us next year.  Thanks for joining us!

Our speaker, John P. Colletta, Ph.D. held everyone in rapt attention during his presentation on Passenger Arrival Records.

Bette Hostetler presented her popular class on Courthouse Records.

Bette Raup helped Genealogy "Newbees" in her beginning Genealogy Class.

Debbe Hagner presented "How To Get The Most Out of The LDS Family History Center".

Damon Hostetler presented "Where's That Old Geezer?" (Finding the elusive information on that lost ancestor.) Carla Kerns presented "Exploring your Family's Past Using Social History" (unfortunately photographer missed this class, which had a large number in attendance - sorry Carla!)
The Book Sales Table was an outstanding success this year!  PGS purchased some of Dr. Colletta's books for sale at this fund raiser, which greatly assisted in PGS Fund Raising Efforts.

Dr. Colletta also presented an enlightening discussion on "Assemblinhg A Quality Family History"

This year attendees enjoyed a delicious meal of Baked Penne and Tossed Salad as our guest speaker presented a delightful humorous talk based on his research experiences in the Mississippi Delta (The subject of his book "Only A Few Bones.")

Holly Ross (Creative Memories Consultant) was available to discuss preserving family history with photo albums.

Mary Kitchen of the Caladesi Chapter of the DAR was on hand to Discuss membership requirements for Daughters of American Revolution.   Visit their website:
