"Genealogy can be a rewarding experience, but researching African American ancestors can be a challenge. The biggest obstacle is the brick wall of slavery. Learn how to navigate the major obstacles, the importance of the 1870 Census, and discover which post Civil War records pertain to African Americans. We will discuss online resources and groups and the impact of DNA testing on your research. The tools you learn will make your research more successful."
