Volunteer Opportunities
Florida History Room at the Manatee Central Library
The Florida History room at the Manatee County Central Library houses a
collection of over 32,000 historic negatives. In 2003 these negatives
were sent to USF Tampa for scanning and digitization. The funding for
this project has been provided by the Library Foundation. Library staff
has been doing the data entry, including names, dates and subject
headings. The Library is seeking volunteers to help with this data
entry. Anyone including seniors who are comfortable using a
computer are welcomed. It's a terrific job, looking at old pictures and
typing in some information. If you're interested, please contact Ericka
Dow at the library. 941-748-5555. |
