Airport Cemetery

Visited 2/19/2001, transcribed by Vickie Stevens
This is small plot located on the corner of Capital Circle SW and Springhill Road. Itís right at the beginning of the runway, where the planes land, on a small hill. In fact the airport built its runway around the cemetery. Itís county owned and was part of a pauperís cemetery. Itís over grown with weeds and has many snake holes. You can see many impressions of graves that have sunken into the ground. Itís surrounded by chain link fence placed there by the city to block it from the runway and field around the runway. All the graves face the airplanes as land and if it was cleared and maintained it would be the first thing visitors see when they arrive in Tallahassee Fl!

Below are some photos taken by Vickie at the Airport Cemetery, they are small; to see a larger copy click on the photo.
