Yon Cemetery, Jackson County, Florida

YON,  Mary,  b. June 6 or 8, 1823 d . May 13, 1902,  Beloved Wife and Mother.

This headstone is the only one in the cemetery. There are maybe 6 graves, but the others are marked only by pieces of pipe and stones. This cemetery is on private property in the middle of a wooded area.

The Yon Cemetery is located out of Sneads. The cemetery is located in a wooded area on private property behind a couple of fences. Hwy 90 E in Sneads, turn right on Hwy 286. Go to Hwy 280 and turn right. Just after you turn there is a sign on left Mill Springs Baptist Church. Turn left and go on past that church to dead end at fence. You can not drive to this cemetery, and I don't have any idea from there. Someone took me and they were not sure, so we walked for about an hour on some old trails and in woods. I was told that there are some old stories about the people buried in that cemetery. Remember this is on PRIVATE PROPERTY.
