Additional notes on McQuagge Cemetery:

Duncan A McQuagge is the one who donated the land for the cemetery. This was the only cemetery until they started Bright Prospect, probably because of the creek being dammed up.

Duncan's granddaughter remembered as a little girl walking across the fields and seeing the water flooding the cemetery. Originally it was a really big cemetery.

One unidentifiable grave belongs to J R Howard (Dick Howard) (died 3 April 1900) was the half brother of Georgia Ledbetter McQuagge (her babies are the ones in the cemetery).

MURDER: It seems that young Dick was working in the fields one day and somebody came and told him that a man was at his house, because they recognized the horse and buggy. Well, he went home and was trying to get in the front door when the cowardly "visitor" shot him thru the door, to keep him from coming in. We don't know the name of the murderer, it happened on April 3,1900.
