African Americans in the 1870 Census

[email protected]   Please put "census lookup" in the subject field.
I recently ordered Family Archive CD # 165 African Americans in the 1870 Census. It's an alphabetical index of approximately 660,000 African American individuals who were enumerated in the 1870 federal census returns. Areas represented include Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as the counties containing the cities of Baltimore, Chicago, New York City, and St. Louis. Records indexed may not be comprehensive for the time and region covered.

Census records usually include entries for heads of household and sometimes for:
Individual's name, sex, age, and birthplace
Females age 70 or older
Males age 50 or older
Individuals living in orphanages
Although it doesn't contain info for FL it may be helpful to someone. In my case I've found a lot of my family migrated from GA,NC,SC to Washington and Jackson Florida.
