This library is a branch of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. As such the library has access to any and all resource materials in their holdings. Although the library cannot obtain inter-library loan books, it can request microfilm or photocopy reproduction of a book. Millions of rolls of microfilm aiding thousands of individuals are exchanged all over the world every day through branch libraries. This great resource enables us to search records ourselves that otherwise we would not be able to secure.

1. Computer Programs Available

• Ancestral File - A collection of families contributed to the Church for the purpose of assisting other people who me be looking for the same familys name.
• International Genealogical Index - A massive collection of alphabetized names containing genealogical information from all areas of the world which has been submitted to or extracted by the Family History Library. It is categorized by geographical area, then by surname within that area. It contains information from birth and christening records, wills, census records and marriage records.
• Scottish Parochial Records.
• Military Records - Death records from the Korean and Vietnam wars.
• Social Security Death Index.
• Family History Library Catalog - A collection of genealogical books and vital records in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City that have been microfilmed and are available for use in Family History Centers.
• Vital Records on CDs - Including United States 1880 Census Index, British Census - 1851 and 1881, Freedman Bank Records, and vital records from various countries.

2. Microfilms ordered by patrons and available for the use of all patrons when not in use by the ordering patron.

3. Microfiche - Including:

• International Genealogical Index.
• Parish and Vital Records List.
• Persi - Periodical Resource Index.
• Family History Library Catalog - Including Subject Catalog, Surname Catalog, Locality Catalog, and Author/Title Catalog.
• Scottish Old Parochial Registers
• Patron ordered microfiche with card index.

These are just a few of the many items available in the library. It also has a collection of books that could aid a person's research.

The library is open to the public and welcomes anyone. As a rule, the staff does not do research for people, but on occasion there is a librarian or a patron who is working in a specific area and may be able to help. You may then contact such a person on a personal basis.

Southern Street is located off CR 491 just north of CR 44 between the US Post Office facility and the intersection. From CR 491, proceed west on Southern Street a short distance and the church is on the left.

Because this library is a branch of the main library and is housed in a church building, users are asked to abide by the code of conduct set down by the church while they are there. No smoking or consuming of alcoholic beverages can be allowed in or on the church property. Please dress modestly -- appropriate for stooping and reaching. Quiet voices are essential for others to concentrate on their work. Please whisper when you are in the microfilm/microfiche or computer rooms.
