AAHGS ANNOUNCEMENTS
Membership Drive
A new effort to increase membership
was initiated at the May meeting. Ads will be placed in area
newspapers, past members will be contacted to renew their membeship
each member is encourage to invite people who have inteerest
in family history research to attend chapter meetings.
Three names of past memberss
will be selected by each member to call to encourage their Central
Florida AAHGS Chapter membership renewal..
Summer Research and Family Reunions
Rose Jackson attended the Smith Family Reunion
(maternal side) in Chicago, IL during the month of July. Rose
showed a copy of the family reunion Souvenier book and court
house documents belonging to her grandparents. She also gave
highlightss of reunion events and activities.
Chapter member Joel Fears his wife Mary and
son Joel, attended his Fears Family Reunion in Houston, Texas.
June 18 - 20, 2010
Stephanie Miller did extensive work on her
next years family reunion that will be held in Louisiana. Stepanie
displayed court house estate records of her great-great-grandparents.
Yvette Birdsong joined Ancestry.com and found
information on the maternal side of her family.
K.O. Mitchell, through Census records starting
in North Carolina, and following there movememt to Virginia,
he traced his paternal great-grandmother and his great-great-
greandmother.
CFAAHGS' Twentieth Anniversary
Planning for the chapter's 20th Anniversary
celebration scheduled for April of 2011 will begin in September
2010. AAHGS Central Florida Chapter received its charter May
17 of 1991.
October 2010 Program
Influential Male Figures - One hour of ten minute presentations by chapter
members.
