RICHARD HARVEY
Richard Harvey was born in 1820 in Bryan County, GA, the son of John M. Harvey and Mary Alexander Harvey. Richard moved to Columbia County, FL (now Baker County) with his parents about 1842. Richard married Elizabeth Long (born May 7, 1820, the daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth Haddock Long) in 1845 in Columbia County, FL. Richard died April 17, 1904 in Baker County, FL. Elizabeth died November 22, 1899. Richard and Elizabeth were members of the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church and are buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Baker County, FL.
Richard Harvey served in the Florida Indian War in Capt. Daniel Newman Cone's Company and in Capt. Bird's Company, Volunteer Militia, in 1838, serving 6 months in each company. He also served as a private in Capt. Jernigan's Company of the Georgia Militia in 1841. He was granted bounty land for his service. He was granted a pension (for service in the Indian War) in 1892 while living in Taylor, Baker County, FL.

4. James Harvey - Born May 11, 1851; Died August 19, 1923 in Sanderson, FL; Buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery; Married Eliza Williams.
5. Jane E. Harvey - Born November 28, 1855; Died August 19,1886 in Sanderson, FL; Buried Cedar Creek Cemetery; Married Daniel L. Roberts.
6. Richard Harvey, Jr. - Born July 27,1857; Married Ellen Cobb.
7. Ellen Harvey - Born 1858; Married Jerry Dorman.
8. Andrew J. Harvey - Born December 26, 1861; Died July 19, 1940 in Sanderson, FL; Buried Cedar Creek Cemetery; Married Lula Roberts.
