Jacksonville, Fla. Dec 24 -- The Hon. Francis J. Pons, State Treasurer of Florida, is lying at the point of death at his home in Sanderson, Baker County. He has been out of health for the past year or more. The Rev. Father Kenny of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in this city has gone to his bedside. Mr. Pons was born in Fernadina in 1833, and was elected State Treasure in 1888. He is of old Spanish-Mexican stock.
