About Us
The Greater Brandon Genealogical Society in Brandon, Florida was formed in the fall of 1995 by
Tom and the late Jean Smith, a Brandon couple who, at that time, had been
doing genealogy for some 20 years. The Smiths wanted to share their
interest and knowledge of genealogy with others in their local community. In 2003, the society changed its name to the Brandon Area Genealogical
and Historical Society. In July 2003, the society welcomed its 100th
member!
