I am looking for any info on my great-great-grandparents. Wilbur Green
LEWIS (b1841 in SC) enlisted in Co C, 2nd Fla Cavalry in Gainesville in
1862. His residence was shown as Waldo. He was paroled in 1865. He married
Mattie PAULING. Their daughter's death cert. shows Mattie as being born
in FL. They died in TX. Did they marry in Alachua Co before going to TX?
Was Mattie's family in Alachua Co?

Seeking any information on my g-g-grandmother, Willie A. WRIGHT. I do not
know her maiden name, but do know she was born in Georgia and I would guess
that it was ca 1864. She was married to a Silas Joshua WRIGHT (born March
6 1857 in Americus Georgia; died Oct. 23, 1943 in Bushnell, Fla)--Willie
and Silas, my gg- grandparents, had two children: James WRIGHT (born ca
1884 in Florida) and Alice Viola WRIGHT (born ca 1886) in Newberry, Alachua
County, Florida--my g-grandmother. S. Joshua WRIGHT and Willie A. WRIGHT
sold 159 acres in Alachua County, Fla. to an E. C. GORDON from Alabama
for $1600 on June 24, 1891. This is the only link I have to Willie'S name.
Willie still has one grandchild alive, my great aunt, Edith REYNOLDS, who
lives in Gainesville, Fla. I would very much like to find information on
WILLIE for my great aunt, since I was unable to do so before my grandmother
-- Edith's sister--passed on a few years ago. Any and all information would
be greatly appreciated. (

I am looking for information on George Venable ANDERSON, b. 1855 in Kentucky
and his wife, Jane LYLE believed to have been born in Texas. They moved
to Archer, Alachua Co., FL somewhere around 1894/95 as their sixth child,
Eva Pauline ANDERSON, was born in Archer, as where the next three children:
Margaret Inez ANDERSON, Mary Elizabeth ANDERSON, and Joseph Lyle ANDERSON.
There were five other children: three of which were born in Cedartown,
GA and two in Texas. Any help would be appreciated on any members of the
family. One of the daughters, Mace, lived in their large two story house
in Archer and worked in the Post Office until she retired. I believe she
moved to a nursing home in Starke in her late 80s or early 90s.

William Calvin MIXON d. Alachua Co. 1932. I have very little information
on him. I think that he is he half brother of my great grandmother Alice
C. MIXON b. SC 1880 d. GA 1950 and if so, he was originally from SC and
then moved to GA and later to FL. If this is the same William Calvin, he
was b. in SC July 1867. His father would have been William Thomas MIXON.
Any information would be appreciated.

My great grandfather and his family moved to Alachua Co. Fl, in the 1880's.
I do not know the exact date. They moved from Georgia. His name was Dr.
John W. WATTS and he lived in LaCrosse. His children were Ella C. Watts
B. 22 February 1863(My grandmother) m. William Napoleon NORRIS, William
N. Watts, Miller Watts, Annie Watts B. 1866 ( believe she married an ANDERSON
and at some time moved to Clearwater, Hillsborough Co. Fl.), Amanda Lois
Watts B. 1871 (believe she died before her father) James Watts B. 1873,
Louisiana Watts B. 1875, Louvenis Watts (Vennie) B. 1878 - m. Edward B.
SUNDY. Dr. Watts also had a step daughter, Ida MCGOWEN m. Charlie? Floyd.
Believe Vennie and her family moved to around Tifton, Georgia. Dr. Watts
was visiting his daughter, Annie Anderson in Clearwater Florida and had
a stroke and was never able to return to his home. His wife had died in
1902. He died in 1904 and was buring at Newansville, Florida. My mother
Lula Belle NORRIS was born in 1896 in Newansville, Her mother Ella C. Watts
Norris died a couple of months before her father died. After my grandmother
died my mother lived with a Mr. and Mrs. Alexander SCOTT. They lived in
Hague, Florida. Mrs. Scott's name was Virginia DOBBINS SCOTT. I wonder
if there are any descendants of any of this family living around Alachua
Co. now. Would love to hear if there is.
