- Ulster Historical Foundation Started in 1957 and constantly updated, to aid in historical and genealogical research in Ulster, Northern Ireland, this site, although still under construction, promises to be the ultimate resource for Northern Ireland sources and offers an online search as well as yearly conferences.

- Old and New Style Dates In England the Gregorian Calendar was not adopted until 1752 while it had been in use in other countries for many years. - Trinity College - Dublin The oldest University in the world, Trinity College has the largest collection rare books and antiquities relating to the history, genealogy, and origin of the people of Ireland than any other university. Some of these books date back to the 1300's, and they also the Book of Kells, dated to 800 AD. It was at Trinity College that the IRLGEN Family History Project was started and continues to grow. Trinity College is also the legal repository of government documents for Ireland and is available for public research.
- List of local Heritage Centers A list of the local county heritage centers, this list gives addresses, fees, and contact information for professional researchers in Ireland who can carry out genealogical searches in the local archives.
- Irish National Archives The National Archives located in Dublin, this is the repository for all know genealogical and historical documents of Ireland including census, probates, parish registers, tithe applotment records, immigration and emigration records and miscellaneous records. All there records are indexed and available for searching. Some, such as the Transportation of Convicts to Australia, is available for online searching.
- Public Record Office Northern IrelandThe repository for all genealogical and historical documents relating to Northern Ireland upon it's separation from the Republic of Ireland and relating to Northern Ireland as far back as the 1600's, some as far back as 1300. Relating to government, courts of law, and records deposited by individuals and institutions it is searchable by a web search agent.
- Marsh's Library The first public library in Ireland, the library has an extensive library of Ireland History and genealogical resources of nearly 25,000 books relating to the 1600's and 1700's and is open to the public for research. Containing the private library of the Bishop of Worcester (1635-1699) there may be hidden treasures among it's shelves that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
- Russell Library An excellent source of local and national history and cultural materials, Russell Library has a massive collection of rare and older books, manuscripts and archives. The oldest books date back to 1460 and contains examples of early writing and early printing methods as well as invaluable information about the people and the country.
- UCC Library - Cork The UCC Library houses an extensive collection of rare and privately printed books before 1800 relative to Cork and also historical documents pertaining to historical studies of the 19th century.
- University College - Galway University College contains the rare collection of books from Queens College, Galway dating back to the 1800, useful for historical information on Galway County and residents within the county. They also have the Galway's Civic Records or The Corporation Manuscripts, 1485 - 1818; 1836 - 1922. The Eyre Deeds, a collection of legal records relating to Galway 1720 - 1857. the Hyde Mss Collection, containing volumes of prose, poetry and various tracts penned by scribes from the 18th century and including miscellaneous manuscripts of Douglas Hyde.
