Will of John Jagoe 6th February 1639

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Jagoe of Ruan Lanihorn in the County of Cornwall Yeoman aged Seventy seven yeres or there aboute being at present thanke be to God in good & perfect memorie Doe hereby revoke uninhibit & make voyd all & all manner of Wills & Testaments by me heretofore made one bill of sale made unto Petronell Jagoe & Jane Jagoe my daughters bearing Date the last Day of March 1634 only excepted whatsoever And doe make & ordain my last & only will & Testament in manner and forme Following First I commend my Soul into the hands of the Almighty my Saviour & Redeemer And my body to the earth to be buryed in xyion buryall in the parish of Filly.

Item I give to the poore of that parish ten shillings

Item I give & bequeath And by this my last will & Testament Doe Devise unto Stephen Jagoe my sonne All those my Lande & Tenemente left lying & being in the parish of Ruanlanihorn aforesaid which now are in my possession commonly called & knowne by the name of Treworgauls Treworgaveor Together with all Leases Deedes Indentures Instrumente & writeinge whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise applying To have & to hold unto the said Stephen Jagoe & to his heirs and assigns forever to the intent & purpose And my will intent & meaning is And I doe hereby Devise that my said sonne Stephen shall sell when Devise & Lease or otherwise dispose of all or any parte of the foresaid Lande & Tenemente to raise porcons for my other children hereafter mentioned according to this my Will & bequeath vizt for my Daughter Petronell Fourtie pounds which my will is that shee shall have out of the monyes shall raised by the sale or other Disposure of the said Lande And for my Daughter Jane the life sume of Fourty pounds which my will is she shall have out of the monyes shalbe raised by the sale & other Disposure of my Lande as aforesaid And for my sonne Henry the life sume of Fourty pounds which my will is he shall have out of the money to be raised out of the sale or other disposure of my Lande as aforesaid And if it happen my Sonne Stephen to dye before the sale or payin of the legacyes hereby by me devised or given Then my Will intent & meaning is And I doe hereby Devise all those my foresaid Lande & Tenemente in manner & forme as aforesaid unto my Daughter Petronell to her heirs & assigns to the intent and purpose aforesaid And if she also happen to dye before the foresaid sale of the said lande or legacies hereby to be raised & payd Then my will & intent is And I doe hereby devise all the aforesaid Lande & Tenemente unto my Daughter Jane to her heirs and assigns forever for the raising & paying of the aforesaid Legacyes by mee given And to the intent & purpose by mee hereby Declared I doe hereby make ordayn constitute & appoint my said Sonne Stephen my whole & sole Executrix of this my last will & testament And I doe also appoint authorise & devise the right worsll Hugh Boscawen Esq of Tregothnan & John Veryan of Lamorran gent to be the Overseers of this my last will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seale y..en the fourteenth Day of January 1638 The signe of John Jagoe

Probatum  fuit Testamentum suprascriptum apud London coram venerabile viro Johanni Exson legum doctore  surrogate ventro soinx qui Heneiri Marten militis legum otiam quoris curie prerogatiue courte Magri Custodis suie comissary vim constitute viresimo sexto die mensis February Anno Dni inxta cursum et computacoem Ecclise Anglieanie Millimo sexcentimo tricesimo nono invamento Stephani Jagoe fily dict defunct et executoris in himo Testamento moiat cui comissa fuit administratio omnium et singulorum bonorum iurium et creditorum eiusdem defunct de bene et fideliter admininstrando eadem ad sancta dei Evangelia Jurat
