William Crocker Will 12th April 1661

 

In the name of God amen, the eighteenth Daie of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand six hundred sixtie and one.  I William Crocker of the Parish of Ruan Lanyhorne in the Countie of Cornwall gent being sick and weak in bodie but of sound and perfect memorie praise be to Almighty God for the same and being desirous to settle things in order and calling to minde the uncetaintie of this life knowing that all flesh must dye doe make this my Last will & Testament and all other wills by mee formallie made I doe utterlie revoke & disadnull and doe disclare and ordaine this to be my last will and Testament in mannor following.  That is to saie first & principallie being heartily sorrie for all my sins done and committed assuredlie believing that by the merits of the presious death and bloudie passion of Jesus Christ my maker and redeemer I sall receive full pardon & free remission for all my sins I give and bequeath my soule to Almighty God and my bodie to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such desent & Christian like mannor as by my Executor hereafter named shalle thought meet & convenient.  Alsoe I give to the poore of the parish of Ruan Lanyhorne twentie shillings.  And to the poore of the Towne of Tregoney ten shillings, to the poore of Goryan ten shillings and to the poore of Filley ten shillings. Alsoe I give to my grandaughters Dorothie Crocker & Ann Crocker six pounde a peice and to my grandaughters Catherine & Elizabeth Crocker foure pounde a peice.  Alsoe I give to my grandsonne James Crocker one colt or nagge of three yeare old and to my Grand Children Samuell John & Beniamen Crocker twentie shillings a peice.  Alsoe I give to my grandaughter Johan Greby foure pounde to be paid her six months after my death.  Alsoe I give to my Grandsonne William Crocker ten pounde which my sonne John Crocker his father oweth mee upon bound.  Also I give to my kinswomen Johan Jeffrey & Jane Jeffrey five shillings a peice.  All the rest of my goode & shattels not given not bequested I give and bequeath unto my sonne James Crocker and doe make him the whole & sole executor of this my last will & testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto putt my hand & Seale.  Dated the Daie & yeare first above written
